Job Summary

Reporting to the News Director, the News Reporter develops, produces, and delivers breaking news and top local stories weekdays on 104.5 FM, during Jacksonville’s Morning News from 5 – 9 am, as well as news updates through the midday (live or recorded).  The reporter shift is 6 am – 1 pm M-F. The reporter is responsible for writing factual, compelling, quality news stories with urgency and relatability for radio, as well as digital and social channels. They produce local news content that contributes to our success daily. And they develop trusted sources that are regularly used for research and story development. The reporter responds to breaking news and delivers urgent, quality story-telling live from the scene of major events in NE Florida.  



  • Produces, writes and reports stories for radio and digital platforms
  • Follows digital and social media policy
  • Conducts interviews
  • Anchors newscasts
  • Follows policies, procedures for continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned



What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcast journalism, or communications
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices with demonstrated leadership and team building abilities
  • Ability to proactively identify and diagnose business needs and deliver relevant solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver results against a work plan in a fast-paced environment, giving attention to detail even under high pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be a team player with a positive “Whatever it Takes” attitude
  • Proactive, self-motivated player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
