Job Summary

POSITION PROFILE

Cox Media Group is looking for a Sr. Recruiter with a passion for bringing in the best talent and creating an exceptional candidate experience.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Sr. Recruiter is responsible for coordinating and organizing the recruitment strategies and activities for their assigned area.  Manages the recruitment process in its entirety, from job requisition to on-boarding. Collaborates with leadership team to establish goals, objectives and hiring priorities. Cultivates and maintains relationships to source candidates. Evaluates employment applications, screens and interviews candidates and provides employment recommendations. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements. Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manages all aspects of the recruitment process including job requisition creation, sourcing, screening, compliance, offers of employment and on-boarding.
  • Works with management to develop talent hiring strategies across all business units.
  • Oversees the development of initial job requisition including outlining requirements for positions and ensuring the requisition is approved and posted to applicant tracking system.
  • Collaborates with hiring department to develop firm understanding of department culture and position requirements, including skills and background required for the position.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Builds candidate pipeline through targeted advertising, direct sourcing, employee referrals, networking, and recruitment events.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with businesses, government and community service agencies, colleges, employment agencies and search firms and other recruiters. Makes public presentations at job fairs, schools and organizations regarding the Company and its employment opportunities.
  • Reviews employment applications, resumes and other credentials. Oversees pre-screening, in-person interviews and pre-employment assessments and debriefs with hiring managers. Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews and assists hiring managers with scheduling and interviews when necessary. Provides timely follow up and correspondence.
  • Coordinates background investigations and verifications of educational and employment experience.
  • Provides employment recommendations to hiring manager based upon candidate qualifications, application materials, interviews, assessments (if applicable) and references.
  • Supports an average workload consisting of 18 - 34 concurrent requisitions depending on complexity.
  • Assists leadership team with developing recruitment budgets, budgeting goals and objectives and key financial and operational metrics. Tracks and reports on hiring costs, turnover, diversity, and other activity areas.
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Conducts formal, consultative, and detailed intake sessions with hiring manager at beginning of search to ensure clarity in understanding and define recruiting process.
  • Ensures a diverse talent pool is sourced, assessed, and presented for open positions.
  • Partners with Compensation, as appropriate, to ensure offers are compelling, competitive, and equitable.
  • Establishes and maintains candidate database of pre-qualified candidates to meet current and anticipated staffing needs via comprehensive targeted research of internal company databases, associations, and discussions with professional networks as well as utilizing additional creative recruiting techniques.
  • Utilizes ATS system to maintain candidate information and accurate data for reporting purposes. Responsible for ensuring EEO and recruiting practices are consistently administered throughout the hiring process and documented in the appropriate manner.
  • Serves as employment brand ambassador for both internal and external customers and seeks ways to proactively promote and leverage employment brand within and outside the organization.
  • Participates and/or leads special projects and initiatives to support Best in Class recruiting practices.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience; knowledge of professional services-based recruiting is a strong plus
  • Strong strategic thinker: ability to see and manage to “the big picture” while driving impact on specific initiatives
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability including a high degree of comfort with Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proactive problem solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions; desire and energy to continuously improve recruiting processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; growth mindset and willingness to dive in where priorities require leadership
  • Ability to build great relationships with candidates, consultants at all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of and experience with an Applicant Tracking System (Career Builder, Taleo, Brass Ring, eRecruit, etc.)
  • Proficient with social media platforms
