Job Description

The CMG Senior Manager IT, Network & Telecom provides strategic and tactical enterprise network and telecommunications leadership. This technically advanced manager provides broad subject matter expertise, advice, and consultancy around network and telecommunications technologies, strategies and service providers. This role coordinates work with network and telecom vendors and staff for services including Voice, LAN/WAN, VOIP, wired/wireless, local/remote access and related security and disaster recovery capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plan, design and develop local and wide area network resources across the organization to ensure the efficiency, stability and security of all data, voice, video and wireless network needs.
  • Ensure the successful provisioning of comprehensive, integrated, reliable, secure, high-quality services for voice services, local & wide area networking, network facilities and infrastructure, internet and public cloud access, network security, remote access.
  • Establish network standards, policies and procedures for network related hardware, software and related services.
  • Implement proactive network monitoring tools and manage the reliability and performance of the network to meet business requirements and SLAs
  • Evaluate and recommend network and telecom vendors, services, hardware, and software.
  • Develop, monitor and enforce carrier service level agreements for all data and telecommunications service contracts.
  • Assess new technology and business trends in order to deliver cost-effective network/telecom solutions and services in support of strategic and operational business plans
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Cisco networking devices, enterprise WAN technology, Telephony, Voice Over IP, Cloud/Datacenter connectivity, Proxy and Firewalls, and IP routing protocols
  • Define, create and publish metrics and KPI’s for stakeholders
  • Provides both technical and ‘soft skill’ mentoring in order to maintain a well-rounded, well-balanced team.

 

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in related field: Information Systems, Information Technology or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ Years of enterprise or service provider network/telecom skills with the proven capability to implement and support complex environments.
  • 4+ years leading, mentoring, managing and growing, network and/or telecom engineers
  • 3+ Years of Network Architecture experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.). Ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical personnel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to perform complex scheduling, control and planning functions; demonstrated ability to influence individuals, lead teams and work effectively with executive management
