Job Summary

Cox Media Group Charlotte has an immediate opening for a Sales Assistant to assist WSOC-TV, WAXN-TV, and Telemundo Sales Managers and Account Executives in all areas relating to performance of their sales duties (including reports and presentations) by performing the following duties: 


  • Distribution of daily sales reports and daily order entry. 
  • Work with advertising agency representatives with makegoods, contracts, etc. 
  • Assist with order entry and sales activity reports for Account Executives and Managers. 
  • Work with Wide Orbit, Media Ocean, Media Line traffic systems. 
  • Work with clients and trouble shoot issues daily. 
  • Back up other sales assistants as necessary. 
  • Answering phones in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Participate in and contribute to sales coordinated events, assist with client and sales meetings. 
  • Distribution of department incoming and outgoing mail. 



What we look for


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 
  • B.A. preferred or 2-3 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales orders, written instructions and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of organization. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Experience with computer keying and experience in/familiarity with broadcasting. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point.  
  • Media experience preferred (Wide Orbit traffic system experience a plus). 
  • Must have excellent communication skills both in person and on the telephone.

  • Must be personable, demonstrate initiative, resourceful, and be a self-starter with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume, time sensitive environment.
