Cox Media GroupAthens Radio is hiring a Promotions and Activation Manager for its radio stations (960 The Ref, WGAU 98.7FM & AM1340, Magic 102.1, Chuck 103.7, Power 100.1 and WNGC 106.1).  Responsible for working closely with sales and content teams to create and execute promotions and events for advertisers and all six radio brands. Hires, manages and trains a team of activation specialists to execute on-site promotional events, live broadcasts, concert events, and digital marketing activation.  Reports directly to the Operations Manager and closely partners with sales and content teams to ensure effective processes are in place to flawlessly execute events and promotions across Cox Media Group Athens. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a promotions team in media and experience creating compelling events and promotions.  Oversight of key events and promotions will require the individual to occasionally work nights and weekends.  Exceptional leadership, communication, planning and digital skills are a requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaboration across multiple departments to create, plan and execute promotions such as on-site promotional events, live broadcasts, concert events and digital marketing activation.
  • Partner with sales team to develop events and promotions based on advertiser needs.
  • Partner with program directors to develop radio brand events and promotions to engage and grow audience.
  • Provide proactive leadership and creation of promotional/event ideas to further grow our brands and potentially generate revenue.
  • Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and Director of Sales to execute promotional campaigns both on-air and online.
  • Establish effective processes and planning meetings to ensure flawless execution of events and promotions.
  • Execute and attend on-site promotions, and engage with our customers (advertisers and audience).
  • Hiring, training, developing and evaluating performance of activation specialists and promotions coordinators.
  • Create and execute promotional events that engage audiences on social media and digital platforms.
  • Prepare contest rules, waivers, and release forms for on air, digital, and social media contests.
  • Supervise and Distribute prizes to listeners, maintain Promo Suite system and provide all necessary information to corporate regarding winners.
  • Project management from start to finish; assumes responsibility & accountability for assignments and tasks.
  • Maintains a master event calendar for Cox Media Group Athens to be shared with all necessary staff members.
  • Effective planning of weekly staff work schedules within budgeted guidelines.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with local/regional concert and event venues.
  • Oversee department expense budgets and implement strategy and priorities for the department.
  • Oversee maintenance and management of cluster vehicle fleet.
  • Manage websites and digital applications for all radio stations (content creation, upkeep, events calendar, contests/web, graphic creation, design).
  • Manage all social media pages for all radio stations including Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.
  • Create, monitor and enforce company and cluster guidelines for station websites and posting on station social media pages.
  • Train staff on social media policies and best practices.
  • Meet corporate goals and guidelines and communicate market’s performance to corporate.
  • Monitor all radio station streams, conduct quarterly monitors to eradicate issues.
  • Brainstorm with Sales Team regarding ways to incorporate clients with our promotions, social media pages, station websites then execute those ideas.
  • Prepare digital analytics monthly, weekly social media wins email, handle breaking news/school closings when warranted.

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ successful experience in promotions, marketing or event planning.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Able to multi task in a high-speed environment.
  • High work standards and degree of attention to detail.
  • High integrity and customer focused.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays throughout the year.
  • Highly adaptable and professional. Ability to participate in high-level client and corporate meetings as well as relating to audiences of 6 distinct radio brands.
  • Strong computer, digital and social media expertise.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Promo Suite and social media platforms.
  • Excellent driving record.

Preferred:

  • Former management or leadership experience.
  • Ability to create and execute ideas with the use of technology.
  • Utilization of technology to effectively plan events and manage workflow.
  • Provide creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Successful project management.
  • Experience planning and executing large scale events.
  • College Degree.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other latest generation Final Cut Pro and After Effects programs is a plus.
