Reports directly to the Director of Operations and closely partners with sales and content teams to ensure effective processes are in place to flawlessly execute events and promotions across CMG.  This role is responsible for hiring, managing and training a team of activation specialists to execute on-site promotional events, live broadcasts, concert events, and digital marketing activation. 

 

Exceptional leadership, communication, planning and digital skills are a requirement.  A proven track record of leading a promotions team in media and experience creating compelling events and promotions is highly preferred.  Oversight of key events and promotions will require working nights and weekends occasionally.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead collaboration across multiple departments to create, plan and establish effective processes to flawlessly execute promotions such as on-site promotional events, live broadcasts, concert events and digital marketing activation.
  • Partner with sales team to develop events and promotions based on advertiser needs.
  • Partner with program directors to develop radio brand events and promotions to engage and grow audience.
  • Provide proactive leadership and creation of promotional/event ideas to further grow our brands and potentially generate revenue.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Operations and Director of Sales to execute promotional campaigns both on-air and online.
  • Coordinate all communications, logo usage, and press releases from CMG.
  • Oversee and execute on-site promotions and events; engage with our customers (advertisers and audience).
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate performance of activation specialists and promotions assistants.
  • Create and execute promotional events that engage audiences on social media and digital platforms.
  • Prepare contest rules, waivers, and release forms for on-air, digital, and social media contests.
  • Supervise the distribution of prizes to listeners, maintain Promo Suite system and provide all necessary information to corporate regarding winners.
  • Project management from start to finish; responsible and accountable for assignments and tasks.
  • Maintain a master event calendar for CMG to be shared with all necessary staff.
  • Effective planning of weekly staff schedules within budgeted guidelines.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with local/regional concert and event venues.
  • Oversee department expense budgets and implement strategy and priorities for the department.
  • Oversee maintenance and management of cluster vehicle fleet.
  • Coordinate websites and digital applications for all radio stations. Work closely with the Digital Content Manager and Operations Director for content creation, upkeep, events calendar, contests/web, graphic creation, design.
  • Coordinate with the Digital Content Manager on all social media pages for all radio stations including Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.
  • Create, monitor and enforce company and cluster guidelines for station websites and posting on station social media pages.
  • Train staff on social media policies and best practices.
  • Meet corporate goals and guidelines and communicate market’s performance to corporate.
  • Brainstorm with Sales Team regarding ways to incorporate clients with our promotions, social media pages, station websites then execute those ideas.
  • Prepare weekly department report to Market Manager highlighting marketing and promotions wins, community stories, and people news.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ successful experience in promotions, marketing or event planning.
  • Highly adaptable and professional. Ability to participate in high-level client and corporate meetings as well as relating to audiences of our distinct radio brands.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a high-speed environment.
  • High work standards and degree of attention to detail.
  • High integrity and customer focused.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays throughout the year.
  • Strong computer, digital and social media expertise.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Promo Suite and social media platforms.
  • Excellent driving record.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Former management or leadership experience.
  • Ability to effectively create and execute ideas, plan events and manage workflow utilizing technology.
  • Provide creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Successful project management.
  • Experience planning and executing large scale events.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other latest generation Final Cut Pro and After Effects programs is a plus.
