Job Summary

Cox Media Group is currently seeking a Product Manager to specialize in our digital Video and Audio products. As part of the Product and Innovation team, the Product Manager will engage with a cross functional team to create and define digital products that will be consumed by our audience. Our video and audio products will be part of a digital ecosystem that can accessed via browsers, native apps, OTT and other emerging technology.

  • Launch high quality VOD and streaming products
  • Define and prioritize the “what” while reminding the organization of the “why”
  • Ensure that our technology partners have clear requirements that allow delivery of the “how”
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
  • Create and refine functional requirements
  • Ability to partner and collaborate with other product managers, revenue, content and analytics teams
  • Drive audience growth based on strategic KPIs for video and audio
  • Intake feature requests from any source, consolidate and prioritize based on vision
  • Prioritization of features and creation of product roadmaps
  • Drive matrixed and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver new features
  • Lead rapid prototyping and piloting of new products and features
  • Define, track and learn from metrics of success, be data-driven in decision process
  • Keep apprised of product, category and industry trends
  • Create business cases to support product feature requests
  • Additional duties as assigned

 



 

 

What we look for

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of digital product management experience
  • Strong background and knowledge of video and audio streaming
  • Examples of defining thorough and clear product requirements (via user stories or PRD’s)
  • Understanding of video and audio feature integration on web, mobile apps and various OTT platforms
  • Experience with various content distribution platforms, including web, OTT, native apps, podcasting, social (including YouTube or Soundcloud), and voice
  • History of working with internal and external development teams
  • Experience working in an agile development process
  • Comfortable pulling analytics reports from GA360 to understand your product performance
  • Must have excellent conceptual, communication and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of consumer- facing digital experiences
  • Well versed on new technology trends to help lead the team into adopting them for new products

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Ideal candidate would have these additional qualifications:

  • Experience working in a media organization or history of content delivery
  • Monetization best practices tied to video, audio streaming and podcasts
  • Understanding of and familiarity with video and audio player features and differences across various platforms and devices
  • Experience with live audio and video metadata
  • Experience with DAI on live audio and video streams as well as programmatic waterfalls
  • Background with running A/B tests
  • History of user testing and product research
  • Complete understanding of a digital ecosystem
