WSOC stands for We Serve Our Community. We are the #1 news operation in the Charlotte DMA because we serve our audience with in-depth investigative journalism and urgent coverage of weather. We are in search of an Executive Producer who can serve our audience and be a leader within our newsroom.   

The successful candidate must be able to own breaking news inside newscasts and in extended coverage. In addition, successful candidates must understand coverage on all platforms and is expected to help generate enterprise story ideas. We are in search of an Executive Producer who can emerge as a newsroom leader, make solid decisions and execute a coverage plan both on-air and on all WSOC digital platforms. This Morning Executive Producer must also understand and implement station research in a way which supports and enhances the WSOC brand.  Collaboration with others is a must for this position.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

• Lead a team to craft relevant, energetic, important and memorable newscasts  
• Develop graphic for production by Design Department  
• Copy edit Opens, Stories, and Teases  
• Assign stories to anchors, writers, and editors for scripting, production and timing  
• Consult with Director, Anchor, other Producers, and other Managers on production needs  
• Understand and effectively use all platforms  
• Other duties may be assigned
