Job Description


- Responsible for actively keeping our viewers covered on television, online, social media and on our radio partners.

- Able to produce great graphics, understand how to tell viewers a clear weather story and work with a team that considers warning viewers about severe weather.

- Must be willing to become proficient on our current technology and stay up to date on television.

- Required to be a clear communicator and pass valuable information on to all shifts.

- Also must be able to put together reporter packages on weather stories for daily turns and for special weather coverage.

JOB DUTIES: 80% - Makes and presents forecasts

– Represents the station in accurately presenting the forecast.  Ensures that it is available to our viewers on all platforms.  

20% - Serves as a weather reporter for daily turns and special coverage.


- Makes and presents forecasts – 80%

- Makes and presents forecasts of on-air and on all mobile platforms.

- Also prepares and presents forecasts for our radio partners.

- Uses equipment and stays up to date on technology to deliver the most accurate forecasts

- A clear communicator to the viewer and to staff members on all shifts.

-  Must be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts. Weather reporter

– 20% - Responsible for pitching weather related stories for the all platforms.

- Must be able to work with a photographer on crafting those stories in a manner that is true to our brand and research.

- Ability to write and produce stories and present them live



Job Requirements


- Meteorology Degree Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years television Meteorology experience Additional Requirements AMS seal with the credentials to earn a CBM seal.
