Job Summary

POSITION PROFILE

Cox Media Group is looking for a Learning & Development Advisor to support the integration of learning and development into all phases of the employee life cycle from onboarding to the development of managers and leaders. This role will help develop a culture of inclusive, continuous learning and shape future learning strategies at CMG.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Learning, the Learning & Development Advisor is responsible for provisioning learning and development services to the organization; enabling employees to get the most out of (and learn from) their daily job as well as online learning to manage their own self-development in a more structured way.

In partnership with the Sr. Manager of Learning, the Learning and Development Advisor assesses learning needs of the business and works collaboratively with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop learning solutions that address and solve for capability gaps, upskilling and compliance needs.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consults with the Sr. Manager of Learning, HR Business Partners, business leaders, and key stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop/outsource appropriate solutions.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning and development solutions using best practice methodologies; makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Utilizes metrics to track completion; ensuring program compliance when required.
  • Participates in and sometimes, facilitates best practice discussions.
  • In conjunction with the Sr. Manager of Learning, implements training and development solutions designed to drive high performance.
  • Oversees the communication and logistics for CMG’s New Hire Onboarding program.
  • Administers the Learning Management System (Cornerstone) including creating and uploading content, running reports, monitoring Google Analytics, driving LMS adoption, recommending trainings, and handling ad hoc requests.
  • Works with key stakeholders to ensure yearly compliance training and attestations are updated; meet state requirements and are scheduled for delivery.
  • Supports employee experience survey administration, including building and rolling out new surveys, compiling and sharing results, and training key stakeholders to use the survey platform.
  • Manages Learning inbox by responding to requests, forwarding questions to the appropriate stakeholder, and troubleshooting any administration issues.
  • Liaises with outsourced training vendors to manage delivery of training courses.
  • Assists in the delivery of in-person and virtual training sessions within areas of expertise where applicable.
  • Continuously develops a working knowledge of and skills in the learning and development field of practice, including latest trends and their effectiveness.
  • Acts as a learning advocate to foster a learning culture through various company-wide initiatives.

 

 

What we look for

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Learning and Development and or the Talent space.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is required, preferably Cornerstone LMS.
  • Tech savvy and quick to learn new technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and build strong relationships.
  • Energetic and innovative individual who thinks outside-the-box.
  • Experience in deploying programs that improve software platform user adoption.
  • Ability to problem-solve and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Successful candidate will be well-organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a virtual team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to utilize and support others in utilizing a range of learning tools and approaches, both virtual and in-person.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite such as PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with eLearning content tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, etc. is a plus.
