Job Description

The General Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales & with a major focus on the digital business of the cluster. The GSM will assist with leading the ad sales dept to develop creative ad campaigns which can be executed seamlessly across multi-media platforms. With significant focus on consumer insights, market research, trends & client challenges to ensure ad campaigns are custom designed & provide ROI for clients. 

The GSM may lead client & sales meetings, CMG ATL events & the development of advertising seminars & b2b marketing strategies. 

- Establish & execute a revenue strategy that maximizes assets & revenue potential

- Recruit, train & manage account executives & digital services personnel

- Achieve revenue goals through the development & supervision of sales team

- Oversee Digital efforts & revenue strategies / fulfillment to achieve goals

- Lead & utilize consumer research to develop advertiser initiatives

- Utilize digital analytics & research to increase audience engagement & radio station ratings

- Independent judgment needed to allocate resources to programs likely to yield best results

- Must be profit-oriented & develop ad campaigns that drive revenue & ROI for advertisers. 

- Active participation in the field, attending client meetings with advertising sales team

- Must be a strong leader and possess excellent collaboration skills to ensure effective partnership with peers while reporting to the General Manager.

Job Requirements

- BA Degree preferred, equivalent work experience & skills considered

- Min 5 years leading a team in at least one of the following areas: marketing, advertising agency, digital media, or media sales

- Proven track record of developing unique ad campaigns & promotions for advertisers across radio formats, multiple media, digital & social media platforms

- Proven track record of developing strategic priorities, action plans that achieve results

- Proven understanding of the competitive media landscape

- Highly successful at leading collaboration & leading cross-departmental process

- Experienced problem solver; brainstorm and marketing strategy facilitation a plus

- Strong relationship and networking skills

- Experience managing multiple projects to completion in a highly competitive & fast-paced work environment

- Excellent presentation skills
