Job Summary

Orlando’s WDBO has an immediate Fulltime opening for an Executive Producer. The Executive Producer will report to the Director of Branding and Programming. The Executive Producer is responsible for leadership, guidance, and hiring of talk show producers and board operators, daily Producer of Orlando’s Morning News, content prep, recording, editing, hosting, and planning of daily and/or weekly and weekend shows. Responsible for the execution of live remotes, syndicated shows, breaking news and severe weather situations, and automation systems/scheduling. This person will be the fill-in host on various local on-air shows. This person must have strong organizational skills and be technically savvy. You must be able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, provide exceptional client customer service, and be able to function in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a professional tone and be able to receive constructive criticism. This is a rare opportunity to be center stage on a heritage radio station.  


  • Flawless technical execution (running the board) for live newscasts, syndicated talk shows, as well as breaking news and severe weather events 
  • Direct hiring, training, scheduling, and oversight of Producers and Board Operators  
  • Strategize with programming leadership to ensure proper coverage of all operational shifts 
  • Provide consistent communication and performance feedback to team members  
  • Act as a liaison between programming, sales, and clients to ensure smooth on-air content and promotional delivery 
  • Operate Wheatstone Console, Wide Orbit Automation, Comrex Access, Opal, Adobe Audition, and other broadcast equipment 
  • Must be technically savvy 
  • Will contribute to content prep, production, idea generation, and other duties related to the execution of content    
  • Secure guest interviews and pitch guest and topics as needed 
  • Able to work with ABC, FOX, NBC affiliates, CMG stations, Florida partners and other media organizations across the country 
  • Build relationships with local and State officials  
  • Work with Promotions Dept. to coordinate logistics for remote broadcasts   
  • Monitor multiple sources for breaking news, traffic problems and weather alerts 
  • Must feel confident speaking live on-air 
  • Must be able to follow multiple format clocks 
  • Must be able to multitask and be very well organized  
  • Send appropriate and timely listener alerts including App, EAS and NOAA 
  • Help gather/generate news content for newscasts and live shows 
  • Answer phones and edit listener audio 
  • Create, edit, and file timely news stories for on-air newscasts 
  • Must be able to handle pressure situations, various personalities, and a very quick pace  



What we look for


  • Prefer 1-2 years of on-air and production experience  
  • Previous experience with automation systems and radio consoles is a plus 
  • Should be proficient in Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software 
  • Should be proficient with Windows/Microsoft Office/Chrome 
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to work within a team environment with a shared vision for success 
  • Must be willing to learn additional skills related to producing live shows 
  • Must be flexible with work hours including weekends, overnights, and holidays  
  • Must have experience generating and distributing content on websites/social media platforms  
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivator, troubleshooter 
  • Must work well under pressure 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, no criminal history
