Cox Media Group Houston Radio is looking to add to their team!

Position Profile
Cox Media Group Houston is looking to add a Director of Sales "DOS" to their team. Reporting to the Regional VP/ Market Manager, the "DOS" gets to be responsible for managing a multiple media sales portfolio.

Leading a team of sales managers and media consultants, the DOS will develop the skills of personnel in the department, assist with individualized development plans, and create a cross-station, cross-product selling culture, including radio, digital, and non-traditional revenue (NTR) events.

A vital part of the role is developing strategies with a sharp customer focus and consistently delivering revenue expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing all Sales Managers.
• Additional reporting may include media consultants and support personnel.
• Oversee all sales operations.
• Develop cross-product sales strategies to reach expected revenue levels, using creativity, business basics, and customer knowledge.
• Lead a team to develop customized solutions for new and existing customers.
• Maximize revenue from all categories, including local, national, events, and
digital.
• Oversee the digital sales efforts for the Sales Department with the Integrated
Sales Manager and Digital Sales Director, using an integrated sales strategy.
• Develop training and expectations for the media consultants and digital support team along with the sales management team.
• Take an active role in leading annual budgeting and analysis.
• Facilitate positive and productive relationships with other CMG departments,
markets, and corporate groups.
• Create and generate new revenue streams as product and service opportunities
present themselves.
• Identify and eliminate barriers to the sales process between the media consultant and client.
• Be Integrated marketing, sales, and radio advocate.
• Lead and coordinate all Sales recruitment, training, and development efforts.

 

 

What we look for

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of (5) years' multi-media / radio sales experience required.
• Minimum of (3) years' multi-media / radio management experience required.
• Strong recruitment and expertise in building a sales team.
• Creative and flexible with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of Excel, Windows, and media software such as WideOrbit, Media
Monitors, and Miller Kaplan X-ray.
• Proven track record of leading a team to achieve local and national revenue
goals consistently.
