The Director of Digital Sales-Corporate will work directly with Cox Media Group’s local media properties to drive and attain revenue goals. In this role, you will identify, implement, and accelerate strategic digital sales initiatives to meet and exceed goals. This will be accomplished by working with CMG’s local market sales teams, digital support teams, sales management, market management, and the CMG Local Solutions team. CMG helps local and national clients grow their business year-over-year by providing customized digital marketing solutions that solve unique business needs with in-depth analytics. As the subject matter expert in the CMG Local Solutions’ suite of digital advertising products, strategies and processes, your main responsibility will be to drive digital revenue growth in your assigned markets. Your primary focus will be the support and attainment of digital revenue goals in CMG’s Radio markets. In addition, you will serve as a primary liaison for our digital sales leaders into the CMGdigital organization, leveraging the resources of Cox Media Group and CMG Local Solutions to identify, share, and implement best practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have proven and successful sales management experience in multimedia and digital advertising. Proficiency and expertise are required in digital advertising products; targeted display, digital video (OTT, streaming, long-form, and short-form), digital audio, sponsorships & premium advertising units, SEM, SEO, CRO, website development, paid social, and lead generation. Subject matter expertise is required in the digital advertising ecosystem including programmatic buying, supply and demand-side platforms, multi-touch attribution, Google analytics, and latest industry trends.

Job Responsibilities

The Director of Digital Sales-Corporate will be an expert in digital advertising and a proactive leader that is eager to work with local market sales teams to meet and exceed digital revenue goals and deliver superior results to our advertising clients.

  • Execute CMG revenue strategy that maximizes assets and revenue potential.
  • Prepare, analyze, and develop sales and marketing initiatives that achieve local digital revenue goals across CMG’s radio properties.
  • Facilitate group presentations and lead face-to-face client sales calls with key advertising clients and advertising verticals.
  • Develop, facilitate, and host client facing webinars and video conference calls to sell and educate.
  • Report on digital sales revenue activity, strategies, and goals to ensure revenue and profitability achievement.
  • Identify and share best practices to develop programs and solutions that drive customer ROI for increased and sustained local digital advertising revenue.
  • Utilize consumer research to develop innovative advertiser initiatives in key industry categories across CMG.
  • Provide training, leadership, and mentoring to local market digital sales teams and core advertising sales teams.
  • Coach and support development of local advertising sales teams to effectively establish and manage client expectations.
  • Uncover high-potential digital revenue growth opportunities across CMG properties and develop joint execution plans with local sales management.
  • Collaborate with digital sales leadership to align on actionable revenue plans and targets for each local market property. Provide output and measurement via quarterly market reviews.
  • Assess disparate approaches across markets and provide alignment with a defined, centralized SOP to achieve goals.
  • Identify and articulate key property and CMG radio division initiatives and activities required to execute on revenue growth plans.
  • Serve as the liaison into the central CMGdigital organization and executive leadership team for the radio division.

 

 

What we look for

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong (5+ years) experience in Digital Sales Management including:
    • Expertise in consultative selling techniques.
    • Management of digital sales and operations, including digital-only sales teams.
    • Subject matter expertise in digital media services and integrating client advertising solutions with traditional radio and digital owned and operated assets.
    • Demonstrated success in digital and integrated sales, internal/external customer satisfaction and territory management.
    • Experience in running a P&L with a foundation of understanding the running of a profitable digital business.
    • Successful background growing advertising accounts and prospecting for new digital advertising verticals and strategies.
    • Demonstrated experience working with both large and small advertising agencies and direct clients.
  • CMG is headquartered in Atlanta, GA. The position will be remote with a preference of location in one of CMG’s local markets.
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, rapidly changing, dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders and constituents.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently. This includes taking priorities from local markets and identifying the best course of action to accomplish goals.
  • Project Management skills required with proven ability to take a concept from ideation to development to implementation, while working within a cross-functional, cross-departmental team.
  • Demonstrated successful selling and management of digital advertising solutions to exceed goals.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with exceptional knowledge of marketing, sales, and new business development.
  • Experience with needs assessment (client needs analysis), digital sales training programs & curriculums, business development, implementation and facilitation required.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and demonstrated command in large group settings.
  • Strong command in front of large groups or video audiences. The gravitas to be a credible, dynamic sales leader in the digital space.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with a keen ability to proactively anticipate and provide solutions for customer needs.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Active and strong knowledge of all forms of social media.
  • IAB Digital Media Sales Certification (IAB DMSC) required.
  • Google AdWords Certification required.
  • Travel required ~ 35%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer sciences or related field.
  • This is a fully remote role.
