The Digital Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales and work hand in hand with the sales leadership team to grow our local digital business. The Digital Sales Manager will assist with leading the advertising sales department to develop effective advertising campaigns which can be executed seamlessly across multiple media platforms. The Digital Sales Manager will lead client meetings, sales meetings, and will play a key role in the digital sales training of the Boston sales staff. You will have access to the best custom and third-party consumer insights, market data, and digital product analytics to ensure advertising campaigns are custom formulated and provide maximum return on investment for WFXT Boston clients.

 The ideal candidate will have a proven record of driving sales, great energy to lead and serve the team, natural collaboration skills, and experience with driving campaigns across integrated media platforms. A successful background in recruitment and management of talented account executives and digital specialists is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the plan to deliver on digital revenue goals by collaborating with the  WFXT Boston sales leadership team to hit monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and digital market share targets
  • Be the intrapreneur for incubating and growing our digital business including building the digital fluency of our sales team and our leading go to market strategy.
  • Work closely with CMG Digital to leverage sales, fulfillment, and product resources to help efficiently grow our local business.
  • Lead and utilize consumer research to develop innovative advertiser initiatives.
  • Guide account executives to develop advertising campaigns that are designed around advertiser needs and objectives and are executed across multiple media platforms.
  • Develop action plans and manage our digital specialist team to ensure campaigns and events are flawlessly executed.
  • Active participation in the field, attending client meetings with advertising sales team.
  • Must be a strong leader and possess excellent collaboration skills to ensure effective partnership with peers while reporting to the Director of Sales.
  • Recruit, train and manage a team of digital specialists.
  • Responsible for focus and momentum of digital media strategies, product mixes, sales efforts, and revenue generation, working directly with sales managers, AE’s, Marketing, Research, News, Creative Services on ways to continually increase revenue and market share.
  • Accurately forecasts digital revenue for the Boston market to identify key strategies for increasing market share and product usage.
  • Be the internal sales expert and resource for all things related to digital media.
  • Partner with Research to manage and develop digital media sales presentations and materials to help our b2b marketing in support of sales.
  • Accurately forecast the market digital revenues and share market trends and competitive initiatives.

 

 

What we look for

Qualifications

  • Three years or more of digital sales success in local media or digital pure play through solution / portfolio offerings.
  • Degree in business, marketing or communications preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and work in results oriented, rapidly changing, dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders and constituents.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital sales processes, digital platforms, technical markets, pricing models, channels of distribution, technology trends, customer buying patterns and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platform ad solutions. IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) Digital Media Sales Certification, Google AdWords certification, and Facebook partner certification preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and Hard-working servant leader that wants to cultivate and lead a winning team.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Some travel is required.
