Job Summary

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days a week in Atlanta, GA Office

The CMG Developer III role is responsible for leading or assisting in the development and implementation of system and software solutions for new products, major product enhancements, and critical subsystems across CMG. This role involves a centralized view of reusable software solutions across CMG.  This candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing web sites and applications, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Also serving as a technical lead for a variety of software projects and will regularly give technical guidance to Product Owners, Management, QA, Developers and BAs. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Build innovative and exceptionally engineered web applications with intuitive, well-designed user interfaces that satisfy both internal and external customer requirements 
  • Research and recommend design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility or application. 
  • Partner with in-house customers and external vendors to negotiate and customize business, functional, and design requirements for enhanced end-user experience 
  • Directly responsible for the development and delivery of Cox Media Group’s core content management system 
  • Strong mentor to other developers. 
  • Possess a highly polished degree of personal communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to provide strategic technical best practices for CMS and Front-end solutions. 
  • Communicates both within and external to the company. 
  • Participate in all phases of development across multiple projects; investigate interchangeability, replacement, cost factors, and ease of manufacture. 
  • Coordinate with project team to create and release Product Requirements, 
  • Design Specifications and Design Descriptions for assigned designs applicable standards and procedures. 
  • Work with all Project team members throughout the development in order to ensure that products are produced in a safe, efficacious and quality manner while keeping within established time frames. 
  • Prepare technical reports working with the architecture review board, developer documentation and application support. 

 

 

What we look for

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • 5+ years' experience with Web development languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) 
  • 2+ years' experience with a content management system 
  • 5+ years' experience with CSS pre-processors (LESS, SASS) 
  • 2+ years' experience with responsive frameworks (Bootstrap) 
  • Experience with one or more server-side languages 
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript beyond common web application libraries (jQuery) 
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript MVC frameworks (Backbone, AngularJS, React.js) 
  • Solid knowledge on web service integration (REST, JSON, XML) 
  • Should possess knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Axure, Balasmic, etc. 
  • BS in Computer Science or related field and or related experience 
  • 5+ Years Experience 
  • Should be capable of web application analysis and performance optimization using industry standard best practices 
  • Experience writing client-side web-based applications, including one-page applications and responsive design 
  • Experience with server-side architectures and system design and development 
  • Experience with Agile development projects, especially Scrum 
  • Ability to understand end-user needs and user experience 
  • Is an independent worker and proactively seeks to innovate 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Proven results-oriented person with a delivery and quality focus 
  • Ability to mentor and bring junior developers to your level and skill 
  • Openness to learn new skills and techniques.
