Job Summary

As the Business Analyst, you will work on various responsive web and video projects, partnering with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX, Development, QA and Project Managers. You will play a key role in building business relationships and developing process standards within the CMG Technology organization.  You will develop and maintain business process flows, business scenarios, business requirements documentation and facilitate the definition of technical systems requirements.  This position works closely with the business team to understand their needs and provide guidance and alignment on all initiatives.  This position also works closely with the Technology Agile delivery teams to ensure business requirements are understood and translated correctly to technical solutions.   


  • Understand company processes and data, plan and conduct basic business and advanced technical systems analysis, and other special projects that will increase customer value 
  • Become a SME for the business area and that area’s needs and processes 
  • Assess business initiative impacts and create process segment impact assessment 
  • Create business user scenarios 
  • Lead requirements gathering and agile grooming sessions with the business stakeholders 
  • Develop business requirements that capture the full business need and technical aspects for the solution, transitional steps, operational behavior, and reporting – this will include writing user stories that will become the basis of developer work 
  • Assist management with various efforts regarding technology planning for dev capacity, training, rollout/launch etc. 
  • Become a power user of various Technology applications 
  • Work closely with the Delivery teams to test and certify solutions 
  • Respond to user support and training requests 
  • Assist business users with UAT preparation 
  • Work with several project managers to support the many projects that are ongoing across the portfolio/program 
  • Have the ability to plan and prioritize work based on overall department objectives and priorities 



What we look for


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience  
  • 3+ years of experience as business analyst, product owner or related role 
  • Experience with digital content and video publishing systems, and large media-oriented websites a plus 
  • Working knowledge of development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban preferred)  
  • JIRA experience a plus 
  • Experience with Agile development and practices, especially Scrum (certified scrum master or product owner a plus) 
  • Ability to translate business needs into business requirements, write effective user stories for agile scrum, and assist in sizing, planning and deployments 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts where information, resources, and priorities can change quickly and where information must be readily digested, and decisions made expeditiously  
  • Strong customer and user intuition 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent team and client interaction skills 
  • Proven results-oriented person with a delivery and quality focus
