Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for CMG - including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Shareholders Equity, and as Management’s Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) and certain footnotes of the financial statements for inclusion in CMG’s periodic filings for debt covenant reporting under  SEC rule 144A on a quarterly and yearly basis.  In addition, this role is responsible for reviewing and consolidating information received from the business units on a monthly basis for internal management reporting   This role includes periodic interactions with the total rewards leader and external auditors in preparation of annual audited financial statements for CMG. responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for MSG, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Shareholders Equity, and Statement of Comprehensive Income as well as Management’s Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) and certain footnotes of the financial statements for inclusion in the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC on a quarterly basis. responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for MSG, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Shareholders Equity, and Statement of Comprehensive Income as well as Management’s Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) and certain footnotes of the financial statements for inclusion in the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC on a quarterly basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the Company's external reporting process, including the preparation of supporting schedules and related analysis, to ensure the accurate compilation and reporting of financial data in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Independently research and analyze accounting issues and disclosure requirements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Monitor proposed and enacted accounting pronouncements that affect the Company and make recommendations on implementing changes/compliance.
  • Complete projects for management requiring financial analysis and technical accounting research.
  • Assist with gathering the information and documentation necessary for quarterly reviews, annual audits, income tax filings and other regulatory filings.
  • Develop documentation of internal controls over financial reporting and perform the related internal evaluation of the controls with the Controller.
  • Assist with the implementation of accounting and other systems for better financial and operational reporting and an improved control environment.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for interim testing when applicable.
  • Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues.
  • Lead the monthly internal consolidation process ensuring accurate monthly internal reporting.
  • Participate in monthly reviews of internal management reports with company associates.
  • Lead the coordination with the external auditors of the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Ensures financial statements are reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinates with multiple CMG businesses for support and documentation related to the financial statements.  

 

 

What we look for

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • MBA preferred
  • CPA
  • 8+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Proven understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience working in a transformational environment a plus
  • Very well organized and detail oriented (i.e. will need to track own progress on several monthly tasks, etc.)
  • Uses a strategic mindset to develop and implement CMG business and operating plans that are consistent with goals and strategies.
  • Understands the impact of CMG strategy and able to effectively communicate the “big picture” to stakeholders
  • Strong technical PC skills
  • Word and Excel required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a positive “Whatever it Takes” attitude
  • Superior attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize actions and projects efficiently and effectively
  • Able to maintain highly confidential information
